These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TafiNorth platform, including the mobile application, website, and all related services (collectively, "the Service") operated by TafiNorth Technologies ("TafiNorth", "we", "our", or "us"), a company registered in Nigeria.
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
TafiNorth provides a technology platform that connects riders seeking transportation with independent drivers. We are a technology company, not a transportation company. The drivers who use our platform are independent contractors, not employees or agents of TafiNorth.
We do not guarantee the availability of drivers at any given time or location. Service availability may vary by city and time of day.
To use TafiNorth you must register an account with a valid Nigerian phone number. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it promptly if it changes. TafiNorth reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts with inaccurate or misleading information.
You may not create more than one account. Accounts are non-transferable.
When you request a ride, you are making an offer to the driver. The contract for transportation is between you and the driver. TafiNorth facilitates the connection and processes the payment but is not a party to the transportation agreement.
You may cancel a trip at any time. Cancellations made after the driver has accepted and is en route may incur a cancellation fee. Repeated cancellations may result in account restrictions.
Drivers using TafiNorth are independent contractors. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, or agency relationship between drivers and TafiNorth.
TafiNorth may deactivate a driver's account for poor ratings, safety violations, fraudulent activity, or violation of these Terms.
Fares are calculated based on the distance travelled, time taken, and applicable surge pricing at the time of booking. An estimated fare is shown before you confirm your trip. The final fare may differ from the estimate due to route changes or wait time.
TafiNorth accepts cash and card payments. Card details are processed securely by our payment partner (Paystack) and are not stored by TafiNorth.
Drivers retain 90% of every fare. TafiNorth takes a 10% service fee. Earnings are paid to the driver's registered bank account. TafiNorth reserves the right to adjust the commission structure with 30 days' notice.
Fare disputes must be raised within 48 hours of the trip through the app's support feature. TafiNorth's decision on fare disputes is final.
You agree not to:
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, TafiNorth shall not be liable for:
TafiNorth's total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total fares paid by you in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
All content on the TafiNorth platform — including the app, website, logo, name, and technology — is owned by or licensed to TafiNorth. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.
By submitting content (such as reviews or photos), you grant TafiNorth a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content in connection with our services.
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. TafiNorth may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or behaviour that poses a safety risk.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including liability and intellectual property sections) will do so.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of TafiNorth shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to arbitration in Kaduna, Nigeria under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or SMS at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of TafiNorth after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
